NEXT NEWS PTP and Johor Port Participate in Johor Port  Authority’s Webinar Series, The Role Of Ports  and Logistics: Waves of Paradigm Shift

Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP) and Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), members of MMC Group participated in Johor Port Authority’s (JPA) webinar series.


The public webinar series was first introduced in 2020 as part of JPA’s initiative to kindle dialogue and knowledge sharing among members of the Ports and Logistics industry in Johor despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.


With the theme ‘The Role of Ports and Logistics: Waves of Paradigm Shift’, nearly 600 participants attended the webinar which was broadcasted via Zoom as the main webinar’s platform and other social media channels such as YouTube and LinkedIn.


Kamaruzaman Hj Munasir, General Manager of Johor Port Authority delivered the keynote speech at the webinar. Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP talked about the ‘Future of PTP Transformation Sustainability’ which covered areas on Asset Digitisation, Internet of Things, Data Lake and Analytics and Cyber Security. Representing Johor Port, Dr Nazry Yahya, Head of Johor Port Skills Centre shared with the participants on Johor Port’s ‘Transformation from Conventional to Modern Port’ which discussed on the importance of having a First-Class Mentality, Infrastructure Improvement and Integration of Port System.


Other panelists are James Wroe, Head of Ocean Customer Logistics Southeast Asia & Oceania, Maersk Asia Pacific and Boo Wei Ching, Chief Executive Officer of Terberg Tractors Malaysia. The programme was moderated by Blume Global, Managing Director APAC & EMEA, Dr Mark Yong.  


The participation of PTP and Johor Port in the LPJ’s webinar series is part of the Company’s continuous effort to increase brand awareness in the region and to position the ports as the thought leader in the industry. as well as part of the continuous stakeholders’ engagement initiatives between the Ports and its relevant key industry stakeholders, including leaders amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and movement restrictions.
