Johor Port Receives Working Visit by Director General of Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Services

Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, received a working visit from the Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Services (MAQIS) led by its Director General, Tuan Shamsul Akbar Sulaiman. Also present during the visit were officers of Royal Malaysian Police from Seri Alam, Johor Bahru.

During the visit, Md Zulnorrain Md Yassin, Head of Free Zone and Property, Johor Port accompanied the delegates to the Customs Examination Area (Export) and Customs Inspection Bay at Johor Port’s Container Terminal for an inspection followed by a tour at the Container Terminal, Bulk and Breakbulk Terminal and Free Zone area.

Subsequently on 14 September 2021, Md Derick Basir, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port welcomed a working visit by Tuan Edie Putra Yusof, the newly appointed Director of MAQIS Johor. With the agenda to have an in-depth understanding of a Multi-Purpose Port operations and activities, a comprehensive presentation of Johor Port was given during the visit. Areas on how Johor Port can assist and co-operate with MAQIS Johor were also discussed during the session.

The working visit was part of Johor Port’s stakeholders’ engagement programme, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Johor Port and relevant Government agencies.
