Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, has attended the TrainForTrade Port Management Week 2022 organised by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) that was held at Las Palmas in Canary Islands, Spain.

The UNCTAD TrainForTrade Port Management Week aimed at sharing knowledge and expertise between port operators and strengthening talent management and human resources development in port communities.

The Johor Port team was led by Dr Nazry Yahya, Johor Port’s Head of JP Skills Centre (JPSC), who was one of the panelists in developing new Digital Port Management Module for UNCTAD Port Management Programme, as well as  Port Management Programme Global Coordination Meeting for English, French and Spanish speaking network. JPSC is the Malaysia’s authorised training centre for the UNCTAD Port Management Programme.

Johor Port was also represented by Rabiah Nadir, Johor Port’s Senior Manager of Free Zone and Property Department, who presented a case study on ‘Entrapment of Rainwater at Johor Port Berhad to Reduce Fresh Water Bill and Usage for Landscape Maintenance and Cleaning Activities’ during the Port Management Series – Case Studies Presentation.

This year, the UNCTAD TrainForTrade Port Management Week 2022 had brought together over 100 senior managers from around the globe to explore how the programme could help ports contribute even more towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
