MAIN EDITOR'S NOTE HIGHLIGHTS IN BUSINESS ENGAGEMENTS CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY

On 11 April 2023, Johor Port Berhad organised the Johor Port Bubur Lambuk programme at its Port in Pasir Gudang, Johor.


Around 20 employees from various Divisions and Departments including the management and support staffs worked together to prepare the ingredients needed to cook the bubur lambuk. The preparation works started at 9:00 am and with the team divided into few groups assigned to the various stations for ingredients preparation, cooking, packing, distributing, as well as cleaning. The gotong-royong culture can be seen throughout the programme.


Seven jumbo pots were used to prepare the traditional porridge commonly cooked during Ramadan. A total of 2,000 packs of bubur lambuk were successfully cooked by the participating Johor Port’s employees. The bubur lambuk were then distributed to the local mosques in Pasir Gudang namely Masjid Al’ulya, Masjid Al-Ittihad, Surau Abdul Rahman bin Auf Taman Scientex, Masjid Taman Rinting, Johor Port’s surau, the hauliers (lorry drivers), Port’s users as well as to the employees of Johor Port.  


The Johor Port Bubur Lambuk programme is in conjunction with Ramadan which is aimed to strengthen the bond among Johor Port’s employees as well as embracing the spirit of giving and sharing which is synonym with the holy month of Ramadan.
