On 29 May 2023, MMC Group in collaboration with Alam Flora Sdn Bhd successfully organised a recycling programme titled ‘Transform Your Trash Into Cash’. The event was held at the entrance driveway of MMC’s Wisma Budiman office, where Alam Flora temporarily stationed their recycling mobile collection truck, the 3R on Wheels (3ROW), for MMC employees to bring in and weigh their recyclable goods in exchange for cash rewards.
The recycling programme featured MMC employees from various departments bringing recyclable goods such as cardboard boxes, newspapers, plastics, used cooking oils, tins, numerous electrical appliances that no longer work and many more. The highlight of the collaboration recycling programme ended with achieving a total number of 954 kilograms of recyclable items that were collected from overall MMC employees.
Putting into practice the core value of 5R concept (refuse, reduce, re-use, recycle, recovery), making use of disposing recyclable items helps to cut down on the amount of waste we throw away.
The collaboration received an overwhelming response from MMC members, while also showcasing their diligence in creating a sustainable future for our environment. This was the first time a recycling event was held in MMC Office, pushing forward in recycling for a better tomorrow as well as recognising the benefits of trading-in recyclable items.
