Last April, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff), a member of MMC Group, organised an iftar with 40 occupants of a welfare and orphanage center, Asnaf Baitun Nurrawdhah (Baitun Nurrawdhah) that houses children whose parents have either deceased or are unable to financially support them through its #ShareOurLove initiative. The event was held at Malakoff Academy of Excellence at Plaza Sentral and was attended by Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Malakoff, the rest of the management team as well as Malakoff employees.
During the event, Anwar Syahrin handed over a cheque donation of RM15,280 to Haffipah Ismail, Chairwoman of Baitun Narrawdhah where RM10,000 out of the total donation was channelled from Malakoff while the remaining RM5,285 was donated by beneficent Malakoff employees through a donation drive that was held Group-wide from 6 to 10 April 2023. A duit raya was also handed to 35 children in attendance to enlighten their Raya spirit simultaneously making them feel loved and cared for.
The event then proceeded with a solat tarawih congregation led by Muhammad Ruziani Abdul Razak before a gift handover to all 35 children by Anwar Syahrin.
This event is part of Malakoff’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and #ShareOurLove’s third instalment where the company demonstrates its continuous support to the community and further cultivates the spirit of ‘giving back to the community’ while fostering a stronger bond between one another.
