Northport Receives Delegation Visit from National Logistics Task Force
On 2 June 2016, Northport received a delegation visit from National Logistics Task Force accompanied by representatives from Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) and Yayasan Albukhary. The delegations were greeted by Northport’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), En Azman Shah Mohd Yusof and were given a briefing on Northport’s facilities and capabilities.
The delegation comprised of the Task Force’s CEO, Mr Gan Thye Heng and its Director of Project Management, Mr Ooi Goan Lee, Mr Chuan Wun Hoong of PKFZ and Mr Khoo Kha Shin of Yayasan Al-Bukhary were also present during the visit.
National Logistics Task Force was established under the supervision and chaired by the Minister of Transport, Malaysia. The Task Force is responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring the action plans as stated in the Logistics and Trade Facilitation Master Plan. The Task Force reports to the Special Committee on Services which is chaired by the Prime Minister.
Five cluster working groups have been set up under the Task Force to spearhead the implementation of 5 Strategic Shifts, as underlined in the Logistics and Trade Facilitation Master Plan, which covers Institutional Mechanism and Regulations, Trade Facilitation Mechanism, Infrastructure and Freight Demand, ICT-driven Innovation and Human Capital Development.
