Prime Minister of Malaysia Launches  Pan Borneo Sabah Highway Project

On 24 April 2016, Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Haji Abdul Razak launched the Pan Borneo Sabah Highway Project in front of 20,000 crowd in Kampung Andus, Papar, Sabah.


Also in attendance at the launch event were YAB Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman, Chief Minister of Sabah, YB Dato' Sri Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof, Minister of Works, together with Yang Berhormat Tan Sri Datuk Sri Panglima Joseph Pairin Kitingan, Deputy Chief Minister of Minister and Minister of Infrastructure Development.


Pan Borneo Sabah Highway Project, which spans across 1,236 km from Sindumin to Tawau, Tamparuli to Ranau and Kimnis-Keningau-Tawau will benefit 3.74 million Sabahans and will be a game changer for the economy of Sabah.


The first package, will see an upgrade to the Papar-Donggongon route for 11.7km which is part of the 706km planned for the first phase of the project.


UEM MMC Joint Venture Sdn Bhd, a 50:50 jointly controlled entity of MMC Corporation Berhad has a 40% stake in Borneo Highway Project Delivery Partner (BHP).
