Port Industry Insight with Young Undergraduates
Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a Member of MMC Group, continues engaging students with keen interests in ports, maritime and logistics sector by participating in the 2018 University Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) Industry Talk Programme held at Auditorium Mahyudin, Pusat Pengajian Dan Pengurusan Maritim, UMT.
The 2-day event saw participation of more than 400 undergraduate students and employees of UMT. Amongst the dignitaries and speakers invited to the programme were Prof Dato’ Dr Aieni Haji Mokhtar, Vice Chancellor of UMT, Prof Dr Arham Abdullah, Director of Industry Relation Division of MOHE-Higher Education Department and Prof Dr Su Shiung Lam, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Faculty Fellow of UMT.
PTP participated in the ‘Hi Tea Session with the CEO’ programme on the first day, where Marco Neelsen, CEO of PTP was invited to be one of the panellists. During the session, Marco shared his insights and perspectives in maritime industry as well as career opportunity available in port industry specifically in PTP.
In October 2017, PTP had successfully sealed an industrial-academia agreement with UMT aimed at developing maritime and logistics studies through training of students and knowledge sharing on research and development in maritime technology and port management.
