Johor Port Welcomes SITC Lines’ New Service

Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, welcomed SITC Lines’ new service connecting Malaysia to the Intra Asia Region. The new service known as FEM 2 Service, was launched in early November 2021 and made its maiden voyage through Malaysian waters to Johor Port.


Present during the maiden call of SITC Licheng were Md Derick Basir, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port and Michael Zhang, Managing Director of SITC Lines (M) Sdn Bhd. The maiden call at Johor Port Container Terminal is the first service deployed by SITC Lines partnering with Ocean Network Express, Korea Marine Transport Company and Yang Ming Lines.  The FEM 2 Service is operated by four container vessels with a capacity of 2,800 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units). The rotation of the FEM 2 Service includes the ports of Busan (Korea), Shanghai (China), Xiamen (China), Singapore, Port Klang-Westport (Malaysia), Pasir Gudang (Malaysia), Laem-Chabang (Thailand) and Shekou (China).


Johor Port will continue to deliver excellent performance and with the cooperation and support from its strategic stakeholders, the Premier Southern Gateway Multi-Purpose Port is poised to achieve greater heights in the years to come as the region’s Intra Asia Hub.
