Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, participated in the Selangor International Business Summit 2021 (SIBS 2021). The hybrid edition of SIBS 2021 was held physically at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and virtually at www.selangorbusinesshub.my portal.

The 4-day event featured six main programmes including Selangor International Expo (F&B), Selangor ASEAN Business Conference, Selangor Smart City & Digital Economy Convention and Selangor R&D and Innovation Expo. Also featured were two new SIBS components, namely Selangor International Expo (MEDIC) and Selangor Industrial Park Expo (SPARK).

SIBS 2021 was officiated by the Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Raja Muda Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj. Also present during the launch event were Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor and Yang Berhormat Dato’ Teng Chang Khim, Selangor State Executive Councillor for Industry and Trade.

For this year’s event, Northport participated in the Selangor Industrial Park Expo (SPARK) and Selangor International Expo (F&B) event components, to promote its new warehouse facility, NDSB2 and the Halal Silk Route initiative. The first major physical event organised by Invest Selangor Berhad since the start of the pandemic attracted more than 300 exhibitors from prominent organisations in Selangor which, among others, included Port Klang Authority, PKT Logistics, Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor, Halal Development Corporation, Central Spectrum, Eco World, IJM Land, Menteri Besar Incorporated, Top Gloves, SIRIM, Selangor local authorities and several local SME companies.

Northport’s participation in SIBS 2021 is part of the company’s continuous commitment and support towards the State Government’s effort to make Selangor the premier regional economic, industrial and business hub. This hybrid event also provided opportunities for virtual networking to connect the company with potential partners and the business community around the world.
