Gas Malaysia Berhad (Gas Malaysia) and Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), members of MMC Group, paid corporate zakat for the financial year 2020 to Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) amounting to RM3.5 million and RM1.954 million respectively. The corporate zakat payments were handed over to the Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj during a ceremony held at Istana Alam Shah, Klang, Selangor.

Gas Malaysia’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Hashimi Abdul Manap and Northport’s Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof were present to hand over the zakat on behalf of their respective companies. Also present during the ceremony were the Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Raja Muda Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, Chairman of LZS, Y.A.M Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Syed Anwar Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, Chairman of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abdul Aziz bin Mohd Yusof and the Mufti of Selangor, Dato’ Dr Haji Anhar bin Opir.

Five other corporate companies participated in the zakat presentation ceremony namely, UMW Holdings Berhad, Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Pharmaniaga Berhad, Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad and The Land Surveyors Board.
