Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group celebrated its Talent Appreciation Day 2021 at the Renaissance Hotel, Permas Jaya. The event was organised to manifest Johor Port’s commitment to groom its talents to become future leaders and professional multi-skilled workforce.  

To date Johor Port has conducted various leadership programmes for its employees namely Advance Management Development Programme, Management Acceleration Programme, Supervisory Development Programme Batch 2 and Young Talent Programme.

The Advance Management Development Programme is a coaching programme designed for the CEO-1 level and was participated by 15 General Managers and Assistant General Managers who have less than 5 years’ experience in their current roles to enhance, build up confidence levels and expand leadership qualities in engaging with daily situational challenges.

The Management Acceleration Programme was designed to accelerate the development of a potential talent pool to meet the future organisation’s growth and demand. In 2021, a total of 28 employees from Senior Executive up to Senior Manager levels have been selected for one-year programme and attended various modes of training including classroom sessions, process excellence projects and book review presentations.

Under the Supervisory Development Programme Batch 2, a total of 29 employees from the Supervisory level enrolled in classroom sessions and process excellence projects within 24 months. As for the Young Talent Programme, a total of 13 fresh graduates were selected and attached with Johor Port for various job training for 12 months. The programme was completed on 25 November 2021 with 11 successful graduates were absorbed into the company and the other two remaining participants are expected to graduate in April and June 2022.

In the same event, Johor Port lauded seven long-serving employees who have worked for over twenty years in the company and honoured the employees whose children have excelled in their academics and major examinations. This annual event was celebrated as part of the company’s Staff Recognition Programme.
