In conjunction with the Chinese New Year, MMC Group of Companies have organised Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes in the Klang Valley and Johor by celebrating the festive with the local and underprivileged community consisting of special needy children, orphanages and senior citizens.
In Kuala Lumpur, MMC Corporation Berhad (MMC) has reached out two organisations namely Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim dan OKU Mesra Petaling Jaya and Rainbow Home. During the visit, the charity homes were presented with grocery items to meet their daily needs, consisting of rice, cooking oil, flour, cereals, vermicelli, festive cookies, mandarin oranges and buckets of KFC lunch. More than 70 children enjoyed the scrumptious meals and this generous act has brought smiles to their faces.
In Klang, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd visited Pusat Jagaan Warga Emas Kasih Sayang an elderly care centre which houses 25 senior citizens with various nursing needs. During the visit, Northport contributed essential items and hampers to the care centre. The volunteers also took the opportunity to decorate the home with Chinese New Year decorations to share the joy of the celebration with its residents.
In the Southern region, as a yearly tradition, Senai International Airport shared the happiness of the festive occasion by distributing mandarin oranges to their valued passengers and airport users. The distribution was conducted at the arrival and departure halls as a symbol of prosperity and to enliven the balik kampung festive mood.
These CSR activities have provided an opportunity for MMC and its operating companies to expand its community outreach programme and foster the spirit of volunteerism and unity by celebrating festivities of different cultures.
