Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to the first quarter of The Hub 2022. For the last three months, the Group has organised a total of 46 activities which covered 23 corporate events, 13 engagements and 10 corporate social responsibility programmes.
In the first quarter, the Ports & Logistics division has actively participated in many conventions and exhibitions namely 19th ASEAN Ports and Shipping 2022, Malaysia Maritime Week 2022, Selangor International Halal Convention including the most awaited Expo 2020 Dubai. Our ports’ participations in such events were part of their continuous effort to build relationship with key stakeholders and promote the ports’ brand visibility specifically at a global platform.
We are proud that another record-breaking performance was notched when PTP became the first container terminal in Malaysia to surpass 11 million TEUs throughput volume in a year. This achievement has further strengthened PTP’s position as one of the top 15 global ports. And Northport has achieved a new record with an all-time high container volume after surpassing the previous record of 3,305,764 TEUs set in 2010.
Separately on sustainability, Gas Malaysia Virtual Pipeline Sdn Bhd signed a Gas Purchase Agreement with Kulim Greenergy Sdn Bhd to procure compressed biomethane to be injected into Gas Malaysia Berhad’s Natural Gas Distribution System network. This partnership is another positive step towards supporting the nation’s aspiration to reach 31% of renewable energy capacity by 2025.
Meanwhile, Alam Flora Environmental Solutions Sdn Bhd signed Memorandum of Agreement with Nestle to establish a joint kerbside recycling programme in the Klang Valley. This collaboration aims at supporting the Government’s aspiration to achieve its target of reaching a 40% recycling rate by 2025 under the 12th Malaysia Plan.
