Gas Malaysia Berhad (Gas Malaysia), a member of MMC Group, extended its support to the local community by contributing electrical appliances such as rice cookers and electric kettles to the affected flood victims in Kampung Bukit Lanchung, Shah Alam, Selangor.

The contribution handover was held at Balai Raya Kampung Bukit Lanchung by Ahmad Hashimi Abdul Manap, Group Chief Executive Officer of Gas Malaysia. Others present at the event were Mohd Faiz bin Abu Bakar, Penolong Pegawai Daerah PTD, Khairul Hidayat Budjaza Ahmad, Penghulu Mukim Damansara and Azmi Hashim, Pengerusi Majlis Pengurusan Komuniti Kampung, Kampung Bukit Lanchung. About 100 affected families benefitted from Gas Malaysia’s contribution.

Continuous downpour of torrential rain in several states within the Peninsular Malaysia early this year had caused severe flooding. Since the untoward incident, Gas Malaysia has been continuously monitoring the after-effects of the flood in the surrounding areas and is progressively taking concerted efforts to respond by providing necessary aid to the victims.

“Gas Malaysia has always focused on contributing towards community welfare, precisely in areas where we operate. Contribution towards this deserving cause is in line with one of our Corporate Social Responsibility  pillars, namely, the community. We hope with this contribution it will help ease the burden of the families affected due to the flood,” said Ahmad Hashimi.
