Assisting the Needy in Conjunction with Ramadan

With a commitment to aid the less fortunate, on 15 April, Gas Malaysia Berhad (“Gas Malaysia”), a member of MMC Group, contributed essential household groceries to the underprivileged from Pangsapuri Sri Mutiara, in Putra Heights and Pangsapuri Enggang, in Bandar Kinrara. This initiative is an effort to lessen the burden of the underprivileged community in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative is in support of MMC’s Prihatin programme.

This initiative is a collaboration between MMC Corporation Berhad, Gas Malaysia and Lembaga Zakat Selangor. The handover ceremony was conducted by the Group Chief Executive Officer, En. Ahmad Hashimi Abdul Manap. Also, present during the handover ceremony at Pangsapuri Sri Mutiara was Ustaz Syahril Bin Ritin and En. Zakuan Hasan representing Lembaga Zakat Selangor and En. Roslan Bin Mat Daud, Presiden Persatuan Penduduk Sri Mutiara.

Representing Gas Malaysia for the handover ceremony at Pangsapuri Enggang was En. Mohd Nisharuddin bin Mohd Noor, Director of Technical & Operations, witnessed by Ustaz Mohd Sazali Syed Johari representing Lembaga Zakat Selangor. In total, about 200 needy families benefitted from this initiative. The packed grocery items distributed were rice, flour, sugar, spices and many more.

This initiative is a continuation of Gas Malaysia’s efforts to assist the needy, precisely, under MMC Prihatin programme. Previously, Gas Malaysia has conducted a similar initiative by donating household groceries to about 200 needy recipients living in Pangsapuri Nervilla, Kota Kemuning and PPR Lembah Subang flats, Petaling Jaya.
