Helping the Less Fortunate within Gelang Patah
and Johor Bahru Community
Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, in collaboration with Lembaga Pelabuhan Johor (LPJ) distributed food and financial aid to less fortunate families within Gelang Patah and Johor Bahru community through its’ annual PTP-LPJ Tijarah Ramadan Programme.
The corporate social responsibility (CSR) based programme was organised as an effort by PTP and LPJ to support and aid those in need, especially families affected post COVID-19 lockdown during the month of Ramadan. The aid was distributed to Kampung Ladang, Kampung Pok, Kampung Desa Paya Mengkuang, Kampung Tanjung Adang, Kampung Pekajang, Kampung Tiram Duku, Kampung Pulai and Larkin Flat Johor during the three days of the programme.
This year, with the strength of 60 PTP and LPJ volunteers, a total of 200 less fortunate families comprising single parents and low-income families received aid in the form of cash vouchers, raya cookies and essential goods such as rice, sugar, flour and spices among others.
Throughout the years, PTP has been actively conducting various CSR efforts which cater to Gelang Patah community such as Bubur Lambuk distribution, providing Container Library for SK Ladang Pendas, Back to School Programme, and many more. The programmes not only help the development of a sustainable community but also as an avenue for PTP employees to continuously give back to the community via CSR activities.
