Port of Tanjung Pelepas and Johor Port Authority Celebrate Hari Raya with Residents of Charity Homes

Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, in collaboration with Johor Port Authority (JPA) organised festive celebrations at three different charity homes to brighten their Hari Raya atmosphere in conjunction with Syawal.

This  corporate social responsibility (CSR) -programme was part of a collaborative  effort by both organisations to share the happiness during the festive season by celebrating Hari Raya with the residents,  and at the same time  aiding the charity homes with their daily needs. .

Located within Johor Bahru district, the three charity homes are Baitus Solehah, a shelter for women, Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti Nusajaya, a community rehabilitation centre for the disabled (slow learner, down syndrome, autism, etc) and Pusat Jagaan Kasih Rohani, an old folks’ home.

With the strength of 35 volunteers from PTP and LPJ,  a total of 130 residents were celebrated through this annual programme where residents enjoyed various Raya delicacies such as ‘nasi briyani’ and celebrated birthdays with the volunteers. In addition to that, food aids such as rice, flour, cooking oil, and diapers,  among others were also handed over during the event.   

Throughout the years, PTP has been actively conducting various CSR efforts such as the annual Bubur Lambuk Distribution, Tijarah Ramadan (Hari Raya Aid Distribution), Back to School Programme and COVID-19 Disinfection Aid, Container Library for SK Ladang Pendas and many more. These initiatives were not only helping the development of a sustainable community but also as an avenue for its employees to continuously give back to the community.
