JPLogistics Handles CTCI’s First Vessel to MOLF Tanjung Setapa
On 19 May 2016, Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC) received its first Break Bulk & Heavy Lift Vessel shipment at the Material Offloading Facility (MOLF) in Tanjung Setapa. The unloading and delivery of the vessel to MOLF Tanjung Setapa is fully managed by a subsidiary of Johor Port Berhad (JPB), JP Logistics Sdn Bhd (JPLogistics) as the Multimodal Transport Operator (MTO) for CTCI Corporation (CTCI).
The unloading of vessel MV Aragonborg carrying Condenses for Heat Exchange Units worth more than RM23 million was witnessed by En Shahrull Allam Shah, Chief Executive Officer of JPB, Dr Colin Wong Hee Huing, Senior Vice President cum Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation (PRPC), En Md Zulnorrain Md Yassin, Chief Operating Officer of JPLogistic as well as more than 100 guests in attendance.
In addition to MV Aragonborg vessel handling, JPLogistics is also entrusted to conduct two more CTCI’s vessels, each scheduled to arrive in MOLF Tanjung Setapa in late May 2016. The successful delivery of the first cargo is expected to encourage more industry players to use the MOLF Tanjung Setapa.
JPB, a Member of MMC Group was awarded a 4-year contract by PRPC to be the port operator and manage the operations and logistics function in the MOLF in Tanjung Setapa and Teluk Ramunia. Among others, the comprehensive services offered by JPB includes marine services, manpower supplies, equipment and system to operate and manage the MOLF.
