PTP and Lembaga Pelabuhan Johor

Bring Ramadan Cheer to Gelang Patah Community

Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) a Member of MMC Group together with Lembaga Pelabuhan Johor (LPJ) brought cheers to more than 150 underprivileged individuals and students around Gelang Patah area during the annual PTP – LPJ Tijarah Ramadan with the local community.


The CSR-based event was organised as part of a collaboration effort by both organisations to support and improve the living standards of local community. The event has been a part of the organisations annual CSR agenda since 2016.


The distribution of aid was made during a handover ceremony by Dato’ Abdul Rahim Bin Ramli, Chairman of LPJ and followed by break of fast event with local community at Abu Hurairah Mosque, CIQ Sultan Abu Bakar Complex, Gelang Patah.  Each recipient received aid in the form of shopping voucher and essential items consist of rice, glutinous rice, sugar, flour, instant ketupat and many more.


Also present during the event were Muhammad Abdullah Hatta, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PTP, YB Dr Hj Zaini Abu Bakar, Assemblyman of Nusajaya/ Iskandar Puteri, Tuan Haji Mohammed Ridha Bin Dato’ Abdul Kadir, BOD Member of Lembaga Pelabuhan Johor, Dr. Norizam Bin Lagiman, Deputy Director, Akidah & Syariah Unit, Jabatan Agama Islam Negeri Johor along with several PTP and LPJ Management Team.


Apart from Tijarah Ramadan and Hari Raya aid distribution to underprivileged individuals, various community-based initiatives are already in the pipeline for PTP’s CSR programmes this year including distribution of school aid, Yassin Recital and Bubur Lambuk distribution.
