In conjunction with the International Occupational, Safety and Health Day on 28 April 2017, MMC Pembetungan Langat Sdn Bhd (MMC PLSB) launched its Safety Campaign for 2017 as well as celebrating the project’s achievement of 3 million man-hours without Lost Time Injury (LTI) on the same day.
The event was attended by the local Emergency Response Personnel (ERP) from Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Kajang Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA) Kajang Hospital and Kajang Police Headquarters as well as representatives from all Langat Sewerage sub-contractors and MMC PLSB employees.
Ir. Chee Weng Loon, Director of MMC PLSB expressed his pride on the accomplishment during his speech and officiated the Safety Campaign together with MMC PLSB Project Director En. Azhar Kasa. The event continued with the presentation of appreciation plaque followed by the recitation of safety pledge. The event continued with the Grand Toolbox with practical demonstration by MMC PLSB Safety Officers on ‘Working at Height and Traffic Safety’.
In parallel with the one-month campaign from 28 April 2017 until 26 May 2017, MMC PLSB Safety and Health Department organised various activities and programmes for its employees to participate such as health and safety talks, toolbox briefing and safety quiz.
Given the number and variety of job scope performed in the project particularly when they are on duty, the achievement of the 3 million LTI became a reality as a result of MMC PLSB’s on-going commitment and its stringent safety strategies, systems and processes.
