Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, together with Johor Port Authority (JPA) and Kelab Alami Mukim Tanjung Kupang reinforced their commitment in preserving the local ecosystem by planting 600 mangrove saplings in Tanjung Adang coastal area near Gelang Patah.
More than 100 volunteers from PTP, JPA, Kelab Alami Mukim Tanjung Kupang, Iskandar Puteri Municipal Council, Department of Environment, Department of Forestry Malaysia and Marine Department Malaysia took part in the mangrove tree planting event which aimed at preventing the destruction of mangrove forests and boosting awareness among volunteers on environmental protection activities.
The official ceremony of the programme was launched by Dato’ Abdul Rahim Ramli, Chairman of JPA. Also present during the event were Muhammad Razif Ahmad, General Manager of JPA; Dr Serina Rahman, co-founder of Kelab Alami Mukim Tanjung Kupang; Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer; members of PTP Senior Management team as well as senior officers from JPA and other government authorities.
PTP has long recognised the importance of preserving the natural environment which is sustaining all life on Earth. Through its continuous environment based CSR initiatives, PTP remains steadfast in safeguarding the natural beauty surrounding the port as well as the neighbouring community.
