Welcome to the second edition of The Hub for 2019.
Gearing up towards the second half of 2019, members of MMC Group are with full enthusiasm have successfully completed 23 corporate updates, 10 stakeholder engagements and 19 Corporate Responsibility (CSR) initiatives which makes a total of 52 corporate activities across the Group for the last three months of 2019.
One of the most noteworthy highlights for the last quarter was when Aliran Ihsan Resources Berhad launched the country's first syariah wastewater treatment plant, hence marked it as the first halal compliant water recycling plant in the world. This triumph has received high coverage by the media and was exhibited during the Malaysia International Halal Showcase 2019. Other remarkable achievements in the southern region - Port of Tanjung Pelepas had broken the world record to depart a vessel with final load over 19, 000 TEUs and Johor Port embarked a regional-scale training programme, 'Port Continuous Improvement Programme' for PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV.
Apart from that, Northport made a significant contribution by winning the Gold Award at Mini Team Excellence Convention 2019. On the other hand, Johor Port also won Global Business Leadership Award 2019 - Excellence in Port Facilities Management from the Asia Business Council in recognition of the port's performance and innovative success ideas in the port industry.
In pursuing a remarkable business opportunity and excellence, the MMC Group is not leaving behind its corporate social responsibility towards society as well as the environment with 19 initiatives that have been carried out. Under MMC Prihatin, more than 1,150 underprivileged recipients received contributions consisting of food supplies during the month of Ramadan. On environmental CSR initiatives, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas, Penang Port and Johor Port have demonstrated their commitments into environmental conservation with initiatives such as mangroves planting and riverbank cleaning.
