Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, received an inaugural official working visit from the YB Anthony Loke, Minister of Transport Malaysia on 18 April 2019.


Also present during the visit were YBhg Dato’ Jana Santhiran Muniayan, Deputy Secretary General (Management) Ministry of Transport (MOT); YB Hj Mazlan Bujang, Johor State Executive Council Chairman of Public Works, Infrastructure and Transportation; En Muhammad Razif Ahmad, General Manager of Johor Port Authority (JPA); along with JPA Board of Directors.


The visit was led by YBhg Dato’ Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, Chairman of Johor Port cum Group Managing Director of MMC Corporation Berhad and En Shahrull Allam Shah Abdul Halim, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port. The MOT delegates were taken on a tour to view the services and facilities within Johor Port; namely the Container Terminal, Bulk and Break Bulk Terminal, the world’s largest Edible Oil Terminal at its Liquid Terminal and Warehousing Facilities.


YB Anthony Loke also had a chance to take a closer look at the handling of aluminum ingots under the London Metal Exchange (LME) cargo. As a Regional Commodity Hub, Johor Port is one of the largest hubs in the region for LME cargo shipment and is currently ranked sixth in the world for highest tonnage handled.


The visit provided an opportunity to discuss matters pertaining to ports and logistics industry and future development in the region. The visit concluded with MOT expressing its strong support and commitment to the ports and logistics industry in Johor.
