Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, together with its stakeholders, Johor Port Authority, Department of Environment, Iskandar Region Development Authority, Iskandar Puteri City Council and Kelab Alami Mukim Tanjung Kupang joined forces in cleaning up a local river in Gelang Patah, Johor Bahru, Johor on 20 April 2019, as part of the efforts in conserving the natural ecosystem.   


More than 80 volunteers took part in the riverbank cleaning programme, aimed at contributing towards environmental conservation and building a path for sustainable natural environment, especially around the area where PTP operates.


The programme was officiated by Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP. Also present during the event were Badlishah Ahmad, Johor State Department of Environment Deputy Director; Rafidah Mohd Ali of Johor Port Authority; Yahya Hassan, representative from Iskandar Puteri City Council; Dr Serina Rahman, Co-founder of Kelab Alami Mukim Tanjung Kupang and members of PTP senior management team as well as representatives from other government authorities.


Through continuous environment-themed CSR activities, PTP will further intensify engagement and collaboration with stakeholders to safeguard the natural beauty surrounding its port as well as the neighbouring community.
