Tanjung Bruas Port Welcomes First Container Vessel
Tanjung Bruas Port Sdn Bhd (TBP), recently welcomed the first Container Vessel to call its terminal at Tanjung Bruas Port. Tanjung Bruas Port hosted the MV West Scent, a specially chartered Container Vessel by manufacturer Xinyi Glass Manufacturing Sdn Bhd.
Captain Davidiuk Aleksandar, the Master of the Container Vessel was welcomed by Alan Hwang, Chief Operating Officer (Operations Division) of Johor Port Berhad; and Mohamad Nizam Ibrahim, General Manager of TBP. They were joined by Ir Khairulezuan Harun, Chief Operating Officer of Kumpulan Melaka Berhad; Tuang Aleong, Director of Malacca Customs; Hairulzamani Othman, Senior Manager of Malacca State Development Corporation and representatives from Xinyi Glass Manufacturing Sdn Bhd.
The 145.68 metres long MV West Scent arrived at Tanjung Bruas Port on 18 April 2019 with an exchange of 1150 move counts. The vessel is currently at Tanjung Bruas Port berth and scheduled to depart on 26 April 2019 after concluding the cargo operations. This is the first containerised shipment project handled by TBP.
Strategically located along one of the world's busiest trade routes, Tanjung Bruas Port has a huge potential to be developed as a Malaysian major gateway to handle both containers and conventional cargoes to serve the growing industries in Malacca, the central region of Peninsular Malaysia as well as the region.
