Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, together with Johor Port Authority (JPA) distributed festive aid to Gelang Patah community during its annual Tijarah Ramadan Programme.
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event was organised aimed at giving assistance to underprivileged and disadvantaged families, single mothers and disabled especially those who are severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic during the month of Ramadan.
The event was officiated by YB Mohd Solihan Badri, Chairman of Johor State EXCO of Public Works, Transport and Infrastructure accompanied by Haji Rosnan Fathlal, Chairman of JPA, Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP and Mohammad Faiz Mohd Pandi, Chief Village of Mukim Tanjung Kupang. A total of 200 identified families from five villages namely Kampung Pok, Kampung Ladang, Kampung Tanjung Adang, Kampung Pekajang and Kampung Tiram Duku in Mukim Tanjung Kupang Gelang Patah, received the special aid in the form of vouchers and essential goods.
Apart from that, PTP also organised its Bubur Lambuk Distribution Programme with assistance from Surau At Taqwa PTP, Kelab Usahawanita Bidadari Johor and Ihsan Johor. More than 1,300 packs of the traditional Ramadan dish were successfully distributed to various groups including seven mosques in Gelang Patah, orphanage, old folks home, homeless and frontliners.
PTP Tijarah Ramadan and Bubur Lambuk Distribution Programmes are PTP’s annual CSR porgrammme since 2011. Now adopted under the MMC Prihatin’s flagship banner and with the dedicated involvement from JPA, the programme serves as one of the best platforms by PTP, MMC and JPA in reaching out to the local community and shows our concern in addressing a wide range of issues linked to the development of sustainable community.
