Johor Port and PTP Welcome the New Elected Executive Committee and Council Members of the Association of Malaysian Hauliers

Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port) and Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), members of MMC Group, hosted a one-day working visit from the newly elected Executive Committee and Council Members of the Association of Malaysian Hauliers (AMH).
The working visit led by Soo Chee Yeong, President of AMH Council was also joined by its delegates from the southern committee. The main objective of the visit was to strengthen the relationship between AMH, Johor Port and PTP. It was also an avenue for the Association to highlight issues related to the haulage operations as well as provide the necessary supports on the ongoing operations of Johor Port and PTP.
The visit started at PTP where they were welcomed by Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP and the senior management team members. The agenda of the visit included a comprehensive presentation on PTP’s operational performances, the port’s progress and its ongoing development. They were then taken for a tour to the PTP Container Terminal and Free Zone area.
The delegation’s arrival at Johor Port were received by Md Derick Basir, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port together with its senior management team. The visit began with a comprehensive presentation on Johor Port’s Container Terminal, business performance and latest productivity improvement initiatives and infrastructure development. The delegates were then boarded a bus tour around the port which include the Container Terminal, Free Zone area and Custom Inspection area in order to have a first-hand view of the port’s operations and facilities.
Currently, AMH has a membership of more than 100 haulage companies and is actively involved in various dialogues and forums with both the Government and private sectors. AMH also sits as members of various national councils and tasks forces, to ensure all issues affecting the hauliers are addressed, for the betterment of the country’s transport and logistics industry.
