During the Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0, MMC Group has rolled out another series of distribution to help those who were affected during the pandemic.  A total of 2,200 MMC Prihatin food packages consist of rice, flour, vermicelli, sugar, salt, spices, biscuits and drinks were delivered to the qualified recipients with the assistance of MMC Group of companies.  


Up in the Northern region, Penang Port Sdn Bhd distributed 300 food packages to the local community in Bayan Lepas.  An additional of 100 food packages were distributed to the trishaw riders in Georgetown who were also badly affected with the situation since the tourism sector was ordered to shut down. In Kamunting, Perak, Aliran Utara Sdn Bhd a subsidiary of Aliran Ihsan Resources Berhad, delivered 50 food packages to recipients ranging from B40 families, disabled people and small entrepreneurs.


In the Central region covering Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor as well as Negeri Sembilan, a total of 750 food packages were distributed to eligible recipients by Gas Malaysia Berhad, MMC Engineering Sdn Bhd, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd and Aliran Ihsan Resources Berhad.


The operating companies in the Southern region namely Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd, Johor Port Berhad, Malakoff Corporation Berhad, Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd, Senai Airport City Sdn Bhd and Seaport Worldwide Sdn Bhd distributed 900 food packages to those in need around the vicinity of their business operations specifically in Kulai, Gelang Patah, Pasir Gudang, Mukim Serkat, Pontian, Masai and Johor Bahru.


The MMC Prihatin food packages were also distributed to 100 asnaf in the East Coast region through Kerteh Airport, Terengganu. The distribution process was executed via self-collection, drive-through and door-to-door delivery with the assistance of local authorities and non-governmental organisations under strict standard operating procedures to protect everyone involved in this programme.


This CSR initiative by MMC Group reflects the company’s commitment as a responsible corporate organisation. It is hoped this small gesture of goodwill will help to ease the burden of those affected during these unprecedented times.
