Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP) and Seaport Worldwide Sdn Bhd (SWW), members of MMC Group successfully organised infrastructure development project briefings and walkabout sessions with Chairman, Dato' Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh as part of the companies’ 2022 Stakeholders’ Management Strategy.
At the session, Dato' Sri Che Khalib visited the 7.5 kilometres long Sungai Pulai Bridge and Link Road project connecting Tanjung Pelepas to Tanjung Bin led by Gan Seng Keong, Head of Group Property and was briefed on the current overall project progress of 84% with the completion of the main bridge spanning 800 metres across Sungai Pulai with a navigational clearance of 100 metres width and 25 metres height targeted to be completed by third quarter 2022.
Following that, Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP and several PTP Senior Management members accompanied Dato’ Sri Che Khalib for a boat tour along Sungai Pulai area to view current and future PTP key infrastructure projects including the Berth Zero Development Project, an expansion of additional 455 metres of terminal capacity to accommodate increase in terminal demand, terminal equipment refurbishment and acquisition projects, as well as the ongoing expansion of Free Zone Phase 2C Tanjung Adang project, an expansion of additional 100 acres of Pelepas Free Zone.
Later in the afternoon, Dato' Sri Che Khalib was given a walkabout at the newly refurbished Surau At-Taqwa for a Zuhr prayer and to engage with the surau committee members before continuing his programme by visiting PTP Central Planning & Performance Office to see PTP latest state of the art Asset Digitalisation Programme and to the office of Kesatuan Pekerja-Pekerja Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas for a short engagement with the Non-Executive and Executive Union’s committee members.
A close engagement session with several selected middle management staff was also held before the end of the programme where Dato’ Sri Che Khalib spent 45 minutes with the participants discussing various matters.
As the onset of operating business continues to be challenging in 2022, the project briefings and walkabout sessions for Chairman is key for both PTP and SWW to continue towards achieving sustainable growth strategy, especially with regards to managing expectation of shareholders and stakeholders respectively.
