Johor Port Receives Wakalah Zakat

On 3 March 2022, the Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Johor (MAINJ) had organised a handover ceremony of Wakalah Zakat to the eligible paying companies including Johor Port Berhad, a member of the MMC Group.
The ceremony was officiated by Sohibus Samahah YB Dato’ Haji Yahya Ahmad, Mufti of Johor and was attended by YB Dato' Haji Tahrir Haji Shamsudin, Council Member of MAINJ and Tuan Haji Ismail Abu, Chief Executive Officer of MAINJ. Wakalah, namely the returns made from any of the companies’ zakat payments, is to be distributed to the qualified asnaf in Johor as per the guidelines set by MAINJ.
In this regard, Johor Port will continue to ensure that the Wakalah Zakat is effectively utilised in accordance with MAIJ guidelines for all Corporate Social Responsibility programmes involving the asnaf.
