on Sungai Pulai Bridge Project

Seaport Worldwide Sdn Bhd (SWW), a member of MMC Group, together with MMCES-CHEC JV organised an educational visit recently for University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universitas Bung Hatta Indonesia (UBH). The programme was aimed at exposing and developing the students’ understanding on construction theory and project management.
The educational visit consisted 14 Master of Engineering students and three lecturers, led by Associate Professor Dr Mat Naim Abdullah from the UTM’s Faculty of Built Environment & Surveying and Professor Dr Ir Nasfryzal Carlo from UBH’s Environmental Engineering Department.
The programme started with Sungai Pulai Bridge project briefing which covered the project overview, Civil and Structural Engineering Design and environmental elements. After the briefing, the students and lecturers were taken to the site to see the progress of the Sungai Pulai Bridge Project. During the tours, students were briefed by En Amir Malik Faeiz, SWW Project Director; En Nasharuddin Zaini, MMCES-CHEC JV Project Director; and the consultant team on the details of the construction work and the progress of the project. The programme ended with a visit to the main bridge platform over Sungai Pulai.
This programme was part of SWW’s CSR initiative to educate students on project management and construction work as well as creating awareness on the importance of environmental conservation efforts.
