NEXT NEWS Johor Port Carries Out National  COVID-19 Immunisation Programme and  Vaccinates 461 Essential Services Personnel with the First Dose

Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, carry out the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme for its frontliners at Dewan Raya Seri Gunung, Bandar Seri Alam, Masai. The programme was part of the nation’s drive to vaccinate the economic frontliners of essential services under the Ministry of Transport Malaysia.


The vaccination programme has been rolled out in phases beginning May 2021. During the first session, a total of 461 frontliners comprising of employees from Johor Port and its subsidiary, SPTS Services Sdn Bhd (SPTS) were vaccinated with the first dose of the Sinovac vaccine by medical personnel from the Ministry of Health. The second session is scheduled to be held on 5 June involving another 500 employees. The subsequent phases will cover the rest of Johor Port’s employees with the objective of achieving complete vaccination in 2021.


Dato’ Seri Che Khalib, Chairman of Johor Port, Md Derick Basir, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port and Johor Port’s senior management team were among the first in line to get vaccinated as a demonstration of vaccine confidence amongst Johor Port’s employees and the port users.


The successful implementation of the Johor Port’s COVID-19 Immunisation Programme is a recognition of Johor Port’s role as part of the country’s essential services in which the port’s operations and activities help to ensure that the country's trade continues to function, even though the country is in a lockdown.

 

For more than 40 years, the Multi-Purpose Port facility in Pasir Gudang has been ensuring that Malaysians from all walks of life are able to get what they need to stay secure and healthy. Johor Port plays a vital role not only in the local as well as global supply chain by transporting edible and non-edible goods for both economic and survival needs.
