Penang Port Sdn Bhd (Penang Port), a member of MMC Group collaborated with the Penang Contingent Police Headquarters (IPKPP) to boost the awareness on cybersecurity and share knowledge about scamming tactics, common scam targets and prevention of being victims of cybersecurity attacks.

The speaker of the webinar session was ASP Mohd Razmil Razak from the IPKPP Commercial Crime Investigation Department in Strategic Planning. A total of 49 Penang Port employees from several departments attended the webinar session with majority of participants were from the Operations and Port Police.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all sectors of the world economy.  The pandemic has also given a strong impact on the cybersecurity of businesses and individuals.  With the pandemic on the hindsight, it is crucial to protect the company and its employees from the risks of cybercriminals. Penang Port recognises the importance of cybersecurity awareness and will continuously double up its effort to make the employees aware of cybersecurity threats, how they might present and what procedures to follow when a threat is identified.
