Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff), a member of MMC Group, was honoured with the certification of ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) by SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd (SIRIM) for its commitment in upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct, integrity and accountability in all of its business activities and operations, which complies with the new Section 17A of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Amendment Act 2018 (the 2018 Act), enforced by the Malaysian Government on 1 June 2020.
The certificate presentation ceremony were attended by YBhg Dato’ Dr Ahmad Sabirin Arshad, President and Group Chief Executive SIRIM, Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Malakoff, Tuan Haji Mohd Hamim Imam Mustain, Senior General Manager of Management System Certification Department, SIRIM QAS International and Clive Anthony Smith, Chief Operating Officer of Malakoff.
Anwar Syahrin said, “With this certification, Malakoff has gone one step further in its continuous effort of combatting bribery. This is in line with Malakoff’s objectives of achieving sustainable business growth as well as aligning the company with the national agenda in strengthening governance in the corporate sector. We shall continue to be fully supportive and committed towards preventing bribery and corruption within our activities, businesses and operations.’’
