Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port) received a site visit from SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd, a well-recognised nationally and internationally accredited  for testing, inspection and certification body, led by YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Sabirin bin Arshad, President and Group Chief Executive.

The delegation was welcomed by Md Zulnorrain Md Yassin, Head of Free Zone and Property of Johor Port  and the management team.

The delegation was given a port tour at the Container Terminal area to understand about the operation matters related to the management of containers for waste cargo and the inspection process for scrap metal by Jiu Ding Industrial Sdn Bhd and Sinppa Industries Sdn Bhd

As part of its Port operations, Johor Port will continue to provide full cooperation and compliance to the standard guidelines set by the related authorities to ensure the Port operations’ effectiveness and efficiency, especially in the handling of waste cargo and scrap metal.

Johor Port is also committed to provide a new and ample CIB Container Inspection Area facility to accommodate the scrap metal containers and to cater for the stakeholders to conduct their inspections of containers and cargoes.
