From 4 to 6 March 2022, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group participated in the Selangor International Halal Convention (SELHAC). The convention, which was jointly organised by the Jawatankuasa Tetap Industri Halal Selangor and the Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated was held at the Shah Alam Convention Centre.

The 3-day event was officiated by the Chairman of the State Executive Council for Islamic Religious Affairs, Consumer Affairs and Halal Industry Committee, YB Tuan Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni. SELHAC featured three main programmes namely the Selangor Halal Industry Expo, Selangor Halal Industry Forum 3.0 and Selangor Halal Industry Business Matching. The maiden event successfully attracted participation from 105 exhibitors consisting of the local SME companies as well as the State’s Government authorities and agencies.

During the event, Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, Chief Executive Officer of Northport was invited as one of the panel members at a forum session under the Selangor Halal Industry Forum 3.0, titled “Strengthening the Global Halal Ecosystem: Financing, Investment & Logistics”.

Northport’s participation in SELHAC was aimed at attracting potential customers especially the Halal industry players, exporters and importers to participate in its Halal Silk Route initiative.
