Malakoff Grants Young Cancer

Patient Wish to Perform Umrah

Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff), a Member of MMC Group organised a send-off ceremony at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Sepang for their second cancer patient, Mohamad Uthman Mohamad Saiful, 7, to Mecca. Also present during the ceremony was En Habib Husin, Executive Vice President, Operations of Malakoff.

Uthman received sponsorship to perform his umrah from Malakoff, together with his parents who accompanied him there. Earlier in May this year, Malakoff sponsored their first cancer patient, Zarifah Zahraa Zamry, 11 and her parents to Mecca to perform umrah.

The media highlighted the plight of the two Stage 4 cancer patients to perform umrah in April this year. Malakoff decided to answer the prayers of both Mohamad Uthman and Zarifah Zahraa when they expressed their dream of performing umrah to the media.

Uthman’s mother said that Uthman was grateful beyond words when he was informed that he will be leaving for umrah.

This initiative from Malakoff was part of their responsibility to fulfill their role as a caring corporate citizen in community development.
