Committed to Raise English Language Proficiency Amongst Gelang Patah Students

Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a Member of MMC Group organised a closing ceremony for the 2017 PTP English Development Programme designed for the secondary school students around Gelang Patah, Johor.

Held at Port Briefing Room, PTP, the event was officiated by Jaizal Kamar Jalaludin, Head of Human Capital Management of PTP. The event was attended by appointed tutors from Johor Bahru Education Department, school principals, students and volunteers from PTP.

The year – long English Development Programme aimed at giving students the opportunity to enhance their understanding and confidence in mastering English language. The programme was designed to improve students’ self confidence in public speaking and their communication skills as well as to create awareness on the importance of English language as a second language.

The 2017 PTP English Development Programme is an educational programme comprising 3 phases- English Tutorial Class, English Communications Workshop as well as Mini Choral Speaking Competition which was championed by Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Nusajaya. The programme saw more than 70 participations of students from four secondary schools in Gelang Patah.

The programme was organised as part of PTP’s CSR initiatives to fulfil its role as a responsible organisation in community development through education and to support the development of future leaders.
