MMC Group of Companies Participate in

FIATA World Congress 2017

MMC Group of Companies participated in the FIATA World Congress 2017 (FIATA 2017) at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre with the theme, ‘Logistics Bridging Global Trade’. Held annually by the International Federation of Forwarders Association (IFFA), FIATA 2017 provides an international platform for logistics industry leaders from across the globe to gain insights to industry challenges and put forward sustainable solutions.


Hosted by Malaysia this year, FIATA 2017 had attracted more than 1,000 participants from freight forwarders (air, sea and land), port, airport authorities and operators, government agencies, freight associations and related industries.


The official opening ceremony was graced by Yang Berhormat Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai, Minister of Transport Malaysia, who had also visited MMC booth at the main exhibition hall. MMC Group was represented by Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, Chief Executive Officer of Northport, Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Sasedharan Vasudevan, Chief Operating Officer of Penang Port Sdn Bhd, Afri Affandi Baharuddin, Chief Executive Officer of Kontena Nasional Berhad, Md Derick Basir, Chief Executive Officer of Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd, Gan Seng Keong, General Manager of MMC Group Property as well as several senior management team members from the Group’s operating companies.


During the event, Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, Chief Executive of Northport gave a short presentation titled “MMC Ports – Connecting The Dots” to the audience and several delegates. The participation of MMC Group of Companies at FIATA 2017 was part of the Group’s continuous effort to create brand awareness and on-going stakeholders’ engagement initiative to strengthen relationship between the Group and its relevant business partners including the customers and government entities.
