We started with an exciting news, when Captain Cheng Sung Fong of Northport and Captain Roslan Othman of Penang Port were awarded the Maritime Pilot Stalwart Award 2018, during the Malaysia World Maritime Week 2018. The Maritime Pilot Stalwart Award recognises outstanding professionalism, commitment in safety, and protection of life and property, among other criteria.
The winning streak continued with Malakoff being awarded the Risk Management Team of the Year Award during the Malaysian Association of Risk and Insurance Management Conference 2018.
MMC Group celebrated two more wins when both Penang Port and Northport, were each awarded the OSH Gold Class Award, during the 36th Occupational Safety and Health Awards. The awards ceremony was organised by the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety & Health, which recognised Penang Port and Northport as the best from a total of 176 companies, after thorough auditing by a panel of independent bodies.
The win did not end there, as Port of Tanjung Pelepas set a world record when it became the first port in the world to depart a vessel with a final load over 19,000 TEUs on the Mumbai Maersk. Senai International Airport too, marked another milestone of its own when the company successfully handled a total of 300,620 passengers -
The achievements are not limited only to operational excellence, but also our effort in Corporate Social Responsibility as evidenced by back to back community development, education and environmental initiatives that were carried out within the Group.
