Working Visit by YB Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport Malaysia to PTP

Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a member of MMC Group received an inaugural one-day working visit from the Ministry of Transport Malaysia (MOT) delegation led by YB Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport.


Also present during the visit were YBhg Datuk Seri Haji Saripudin Hj Kasim, Secretary General of MOT, YBhg Dato’ Abdul Rahim Ramli, Chairman of Johor Port Authority (JPA), En Muhammad Razif Ahmad, General Manager of JPA, YB Haji Mazlan Bujang, Chairman of Johor Works, Infrastructure and Transport Committee as well as several others federal and state officials and representatives.


YB Loke Siew Fook and delegation were welcomed by YBhg Dato’ Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, Chairman of PTP, Mr Ian Brian James, Group Chief Executive Officer of MMC Port Holdings Sdn Bhd, Mr Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP and senior members of PTP’s management team.


During the visit, YB Loke Siew Fook and the delegation were taken to visit PTP’s Marine Port Control Centre for a briefing on the Vessel Traffic Management Information System, a collaborative effort between PTP and JPA which focuses on a service that primarily improves efficiency of vessel traffic movement and safety of navigation within port approaches or through hazardous areas.

 

The minister and his delegation were then ushered for a closed briefing session led by PTP where Mr Marco Neelsen presented on the port’s operational and core businesses, on-going development and future plan as well as challenges and its socio-economic contributions to Malaysia and Johor state. On the other hand, En Muhammad Razif Ahmad from JPA presented on Johor Port Authority’s function, mission and vision, challenges as well as current and future initiatives.

 

The MOT’s working visit to PTP was concluded with a tour around PTP Free Zone District A and B and terminal area before they were escorted for a dinner event hosted by LPJ.
