Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, carried out a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative at the Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR), Klang.

Organised in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration, Northport’s volunteers visited HTAR’s Medical and Geriatric Ward to spread the joy and happiness with the elderly patients by contributing ‘ang pow’ and goodie bags of food and drinks.

HTAR is one of the busiest hospitals in Malaysia. The 35-years old hospital, equipped with more than 1,000 beds, provides health care services for patients mostly from the surrounding Klang area.

For the volunteers, the programme provided them with valuable experience and taught them to have more compassion towards the less fortunate. It is their hope that the small gesture brought cheer to the patients.

Northport has been organising CSR programmes to reach out to the less fortunate especially during festive seasons. Apart from fulfilling its role as a responsible corporate oraganisation, such activities are also aimed to nurturing the spirit of giving and volunteerism among Northport’s employees by providing them a platform to connect with members of the community and to share the joy of festivities among the multi-racial community in Malaysia.
