A total of 170 employees of Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd (Senai International Airport) have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine under the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme at Dewan Raya Bandar Putra, Kulai.

The session covered 87% of the total employees especially the frontliners who are dealing with public on daily basis while the remaining employees will receive the vaccination on a date which will be advised by the Ministry of Health. The second dose of vaccination is scheduled to be 21 days after the first dose. Currently, all employees that have received the first dose of vaccination are in a good health condition and there are no serious side-effect cases reported to date.

The aviation industry suffers the 'worst year in history' with the imposition of travel restrictions and suspension of flights in a global effort to contain the spread of the virus. The situation has brought airports worldwide into survival mode with a huge loss of passenger traffic and revenues.

Supporting the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme is very critical to protect the health and wellbeing of employees, as well as to prepare for the revival of the industry once the decision to open cross border and travel restrictions are uplifted.
