PTP Elevates English Language Proficiency Amongst Gelang Patah Students Via Educational Empowerment Programme

Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, held a closing ceremony for the company’s 2019 English Development Programme designed for Gelang Patah secondary school students.

40 students from four secondary schools in Gelang Patah participated in communications workshops organised once a month from April to October 2019. The workshops were facilitated by experienced teachers appointed by Johor Bahru District Education Office (PPD) and selected PTP personnel whom acted as tutors. Through this programme, the students were given the opportunity to improve their self confidence in public speaking and communications skills.

The closing ceremony, which was officiated by Kamar Jalaludin, Head of Human Capital Management and Azrini Reezan Abd Latiff, Head of Corporate Affairs also saw SMK Gelang Patah won the Mini Choral Speaking Competition with their beautiful rendition of “A Better Tomorrow”.

Apart from the programme, PTP has various other corporate social responsibility initiatives such as UPSR and SPM motivational camps, distribution of school aids and annual primary school soccer league.
