Selangor Sultan Accepts RM3.5 Million of Business Zakat for Selangor Zakat Board from Gas Malaysia

On 9 December 2019, the Sultan of Selangor, Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj received RM3.5 million of business zakat on behalf of Selangor Zakat Board from Gas Malaysia Berhad (Gas Malaysia), a member of MMC Group.

The zakat was handed over to the Sultan of Selangor by Ahmad Hashimi Abdul Manap, Chief Executive Officer of Gas Malaysia at a ceremony held at Istana Alam Shah. The zakat payment was for the financial year ending 2019.

Also present at the ceremony were Yang Amat Dihormati Dato’ Setia Haji Mohamed Khusrin Bin Munawi, Chairman of Majlis Agama Islam Selangor, Yang Amat Mulia Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Syed Anwar Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, Chairman of Selangor Zakat Board, and Sahibus Samahah Dato' Seri Utama Diraja Mufti Dato' Setia Haji Mohd Tamyes Bin Abd Wahid, Mufti of Selangor.

The zakat handover ceremony was then concluded with a prayer led by Dato’ Seri Utama Diraja Mufti of Selangor.
