Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, signed a Second Supplementary Agreement on Training Services with PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV (PELINDO IV), a state-owned port operator in Makassar, Indonesia.


Building on Johor Port’s success in conducting the Port Training programmes for PELINDO IV personnel since 2017, PELINDO IV has agreed to extend the Port Training Services Agreement with Johor Port for one more year.


In addition to the Training Programme and Services for Supervisory level personnel, the training will include Management level personnel who will undergo additional programmes such as Port Strategic Management, Port Kaizen, Port Logistics and Port Leadership conducted by Johor Port’s training provider arm, JP Skills Centre.


The Agreement was signed by Shahrull Allam Shah Abdul Halim, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port and M. Asyhari, Director of Human Capital PELINDO IV at Johor Port in Pasir Gudang witnessed by Dr. Nazry Yahya, Head of JP Skills Centre and Fitri Nurani Pulubuhu, Deputy Vice President of Human Capital Development, PELINDO IV.


As a premier southern gateway multi-purpose port in Malaysia, Johor Port is expanding its business portfolio by leveraging on its existing expertise and experience through the establishment of JP Skills Centre. – a HRDF Approved Training Provider – in providing accredited (in-house and public) port related training, courses, workshops as well as consultancy services to the other ports or terminals. JP Skills Centre. initiative and training standards are globally recognised with several courses being certified by the TrainForTrade, a division of United Nation Council on Trade and Development.


JP Skills Centre.currently provides Port Training programmes to the major local ports and regional ports such as Tan Cang ST in Vietnam; PELINDO III and PELINDO IV in Indonesia as well as collaborating with the Department of Skills Development Malaysia to provide 20 months Port Operational and Technical training programme to school leavers.
