Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, hosted Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator Programme. It was held in collaboration with the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO), with the objective to guide and train the identified coordinators in helping all the employees at their respective companies on the implementation of the RTW programme.


RTW is a programme that helps all employees suffering from employment injuries to return to work, in a fast and safe manner. Among the rehabilitation services offered by SOCSO to the employees under RTW programme includes the Workplace Therapy, Pain Management, Counseling, Job Placement and Skills Training.


A total of 40 coordinators from Northport, Johor Port Berhad, Penang Port Sdn Bhd and Kontena Nasional Berhad attended the two-day programme.


During the programme, SOCSO team led by Rosmawati Mat, Head of RTW Department, stressed on the fundamental of RTW to ensure the success of the entire programme which are the establishment of a management committee, creation of policies and procedures, stakeholder engagement as well as monitoring and evaluation.


This initiative demonstrates the efforts in providing comfort to employees in need of support whilst at the same time retaining highly skilled workers.
