On 1 March 2024, Aliran Ihsan Resources Berhad (AIR Berhad), a member of MMC Group, organised a site progress walkthrough attended by Tan Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, Group Managing Director of MMC Corporation Berhad and all project team members. Adam Saffian Ghazali, Chief Executive Officer of AIR Berhad led the site visit and shared the progress of the Water Treatment Plant (WTP). This visit underscores the significance of the project and highlights its progress towards completion.

AIR Berhad was entrusted to undertake a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) from Malaysian Airport Holdings Berhad (MAHB) and also to operate and maintain the WTP for the duration of 10 years. This project reflects MAHB's inaugural commitment towards sustainability especially in the water supply sector through its green initiatives of having a self-sustaining treated water supply.

The construction of this project being led by MMC Engineering Sdn Bhd (MMC Engineering), shows a collaboration within the companies of MMC Group. With a focus on precision engineering and sustainable practices, MMC Engineering has coordinated every aspect of the project, ensuring that it not only meets but exceeds the highest standards of efficiency. This exemplary teamwork demonstrates the Group's unwavering commitment to excellence in infrastructure development, setting a benchmark for future endeavours in the industry.

The WTP is designed to have a minimal impact on the environment and to conserve energy.  It transforms pond water into clean, drinkable water, setting a new standard for sustainable water management in the MAHB area. The project aims to supply treated water to MAHB by the fourth quarter of 2024.
